Everest panorama trek 10 Days Overview

The Everest Panorama Trek (often called the Everest View Trek) is a shorter, lower-altitude alternative to the full Everest Base Camp (EBC) trek. It is highly popular for people who want to experience the breathtaking majesty of the Khumbu region, immerse themselves in Sherpa culture, and see Mt. Everest with their own eyes without pushing their bodies to extreme high-altitude limits.

Instead of spending nearly two weeks climbing to 5,364 meters, the Panorama Trek generally wraps up in 5 to 9 days and tops out around 3,860 meters at the famous Tengboche Monastery or Hotel Everest View.

Meals

Eating is a big part of Holiday. Travelling with Himalaya Message Adventure, you experience the vast array of wonderful food Nepalese, Chinese, Continental, Italian and several local cuisines. Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner are included in the package. Your guide will suggest delicious, hygienic and each place special food during your trip. Mountain restaurant owner prefer not to order many dishes and waste food as they would like to cater more trekkers with limited food before run off stuck. Its a week or more days hard work to porters and caravans to bring food to these places. During this trek you will usually have breakfast and dinner at the same Lodge, lunch will be eaten at one of the trail side restaurants en-route.

Drinking water:

Himalaya Message Adventure provides unlimited chlorine/Iodine treated water during the trek. All tea houses have mineral water and boiled water for trekkers upon additional cost. We discourage the purchase of Mineral water and bottled water while on the Trek as plastic bottles aredifficult to dispose off and have become an environmental problem

What to take

This is a very active trip, meaning you will be on the move most of the time, so pack as lightly as possible. We provide one porter for every two travellers; your trekking gear will be carried by the porter in a duffel bag that we will provide. The maximum the porters are allowed to carry 15 kgs per trekker means 30 kgs from 2 trekkers . Unnecessary luggage can left in Kathmandu Hotel and its absolutely free of cost. .

Important to note:

Please read the Checklist section of this trip notes for additional details of what you need to bring for the trek on this trip. You will need to bring a comfortable medium sized day pack to carry the things that you will need during the day. This should have a waist strap or (better) a padded waist belt. The weather is subject to change in high altitude so layered clothing is recommended throughout the year.

FAQs
  • Company Answer: Weather in the Himalayas is notoriously unpredictable. If your flight from Kathmandu (or Ramechhap/Manthali) to Lukla is delayed due to poor visibility, we typically keep a buffer day in the schedule. If cancellations persist for multiple days, we can help arrange a chartered helicopter flight (at an additional cost, usually claimable via travel insurance) to keep your itinerary on track.

  • The strict weight limit for the small twin-otter aircraft flying into Lukla is 15 kg (approx. 33 lbs) total per passenger. This is split into:

    • 10 kg for your main duffel bag (carried by your porter).

    • 5 kg for your personal daypack.

  • What kind of food is available on the trail, and is it safe to eat meat?

You will eat breakfast and dinner at the teahouse where you spend the night, and lunch at an established stop along the trail.

    • The Menu: Menus are surprisingly varied, featuring the local staple Dal Bhat (lentil soup, rice, and vegetable curry), Tibetan bread, Sherpa stews, pasta, pancakes, and eggs.

    • The Meat Policy: Most agencies strongly advise staying on a vegetarian diet during the trek. Because the Khumbu region is a sacred Buddhist zone, animals cannot be slaughtered locally. All meat is carried up from lower elevations on porters’ backs or mules without refrigeration, making it a high risk for food poisoning.

  • Trekking companies discourage buying single-use plastic mineral water bottles to reduce plastic pollution in the national park. Instead, you should bring reusable bottles or a bladder. You can buy boiled water from teahouses or use water purification tablets / UV filters (like a LifeStraw) on tap water.

  • No, prior mountaineering experience is not required. The Everest Panorama Trek is classified as Easy to Moderate. If you are in decent cardio shape and can comfortably walk uphill for 4 to 6 hours a day with a light daypack, you can complete this trek. It is highly recommended for families, beginners, and senior citizens.
