Pokhara at an elevation of 900 mts & 200kms west of Kathmandu, is the largest valley in Nepal. A scenic mountain side drive approximate 5/6 hours or a half hour picturesque flight will get you to This valley. Famous for its lakes and views of the magnificient Himalayan Peaks, this visit is recommended for those who would really like to break away as they go boating in the calm and serene waters of the Phewa Lake, or take day hikes in nearby hills and if time permits short treks into the Himalaya.
Nagarkot is a famous place to see the mountain ranges and sunrise. It lies at an altitude of 2211m and is located 30 km north east of Kathmandu. If weather is good, one can see great views of Himalayas including Annapurna, Langtang, Dorje Lakpa and Gauri Shanker, Ganesh Himala. The mountain flight that goes each day to show Everest and other Himalayas from Kathmandu goes via the Nagarkot route.
