The trail begins with a smooth climb and then rises steeply before you reach the first bridge. Once you go down to the stream there is a huge boulder which act as a bridge, Pandav Pul-1 for this stream. Once you cross over to other side of this stream and thinks that the adventure is over you will interview another 20 feet boulder which is on Parvati river and this will be the second bridge, Pandav Pul-2. Once out of this area we will climb through a steep terrain. The irregular trail is quite a steep climb over rocky ice patches. Climb during this section is pretty steep and hence require patience. But once you climb higher, the watchful eye of the entire Parvati Valley that it provides, is fantastic and worth all the effort. We will then start with the descend till Parvati side base camp. Parvati valley is located in Kullu district of Himachal Pradesh . This trek was discovered by Louis Dane in 1884. The Pin Parvati Pass provides easy entry to the Spiti valley from Kullu valley. In short the pass links the Parvathi valley in Kullu and the Pin valley in Spiti. Pin Parvati Pass is one of the most picturesque treks in the Himalayas.
Rudra-Nag, the serpent shaped waterfall, the pine forests of Khirganga where Lord Shiva is said to have meditated, the rock formation of Pandu Pul and the Pin-Parvati Pass (5400 m) are some of the popular tourist attractions. The Pin Valley National Park is another tourist attraction and is known for its resident wildlife population including the snow leopard.
A favorite spot among young Israelis, Kasol, which has earned the name of Mini Israel in Himachal Pradesh, is also situated in the Parvati Valley.
The trail is through lush green forests, wide open meadows, uncountable waterfalls, and a high altitude lake which brings you face to face with Parvati glacier. Very few treks give you a chance to walk on a glacier, Pin Parvati trek is one of them. The crossover to the contrasting Pin Valley in Spiti adds a cultural spin to the trek making it even more attractive. The best time to go for Pin Parvati trek is post monsoon between the months of August and September. It is a challenging trek that requires a great deal of stamina and excellent trekking skills and therefore is not recommended for beginners.
