Description

The Annapurna Base Camp Trek is original trekker’s playground in Nepal. This is popular place for trekking, known as heaven of Asia. At 40 km north of Pokhara, there is a high glacial basin. This oval shaped plateau sits at an altitude of 4,000m. Since mountains from all sides surround it so, it receives only 7 hours of sunlight in summer day. It has a great combination of heights and depth, which makes it, an extraordinary variety of ecosystems. Until 1956 AD, outsiders in Nepal did not penetrate the Annapurna sanctuary. It is an amazing trek route through local trails.

With exclusive view of the Mountains Mt Annapurna and Mt Dhaulagiri the Trek entails through the best parts of the Annapurna range. We will go through old foot trails of hardy Gurung and Magar hill tribes. They lived here in temperate forests among rhododendron trees, farming on steep terraces growing staples of maize and millet. This trek goes through Modi River that drains in between Mt Hiunchuli and Holy Mountain Mt Machapuchare Himal. When we enter into the sanctuary, we get ourselves enclosed inside wall of peaks wrapped with snow.

Annapurna Base Camp Trek starts from Pokhara. Then the team enters into heart of the Annapurna sanctuary to enjoy the view of four Annapurna. However, the 10thhighest Mountain along with II-VI other peaks all above 7,00M. Lies there. Then we will return to Chomrong, and go ahead to Kopra Ridge on west through alpine forest following the map. The Kopra hill offers exceptional panoramic views of entire Mt Annapurna range including a fearsome close view of Dhaulagiri Mountain.

Its steep face plunges into the KaliGandaki River, creating the deepest gorge in the world. One-day hike in north east of camp will bring us to Khayer-Lake (4,015M.). It is a sacred lake worshiped by local during the Buddha Purnima festival. Our trail finally winds down to Ghorepani from Poon Hill, before we return towards Pokhara. At Ghorepani, we enjoy the panoramic sunrise view of Annapurna Range and its weather.
