Cochin

Cochin is also known as Kochi. It is a major port city of the south west coast of india. It is also known as Queen of the Arabian Sea. It is widely referred to as the financial and commercial capital of Kerala. The population of the city is a mix of people as a result of successive waves of migration over the course of several centuries. They speak in Malayalam and English.

Munnar

Munnar is a town and hill station of the southwestern indian state of Kerala. It is located in the Idukki district. It is a famous destination for honeymoon. Munnar is also known as the ‘Kashmir of South India’. The name ‘Munnar’ means ‘three rivers’. One of the main attractions near Munnar is the Eravikulam National Park.This national park is famous for its endangered inhabitant, the Nilgiri Tahr.

Thekkady

Thekkady is an important tourist attraction in the Kerala state of India. It is the location of the Periyar National Park, india’s largest wildlife sanctuary. It is located 145 km from Cochin International Airport.

Kumarakom

Kumarakom is a famous tourist destination located near the city of Kottayam in Kerala. Kumarakom is home to a wide variety of flora and fauna. Kumarakom has a moderate climate throughout the year.Fishing, agriculture and tourism are the major economics activities. It has been declared a special tourism zone by the kerala state government, as legislated for by Kerala Tourism Act, 2005.

Kovalam

Kovalam is a beach town by the Arabian Sea in Trivandrum City Kerala. Kovalam literally means a grove of coconut trees. It has 3 beaches separated by rocky outcroppings in its 17 km coastline, the three together form the famous crescent of thee Kovalam beach.

Trivandrum

Trivandrum is also known as Thiruvananthapuram, is the capital and the largest city of the Indian state of Kerala. It is a major Information Technology hub in India. The city gets its name from the Malayalam word thiru-anantha-puram, meaning ‘The city of Lord Ananta’. Thiruvananthapuram is an ancient region with trading traditions dating back to 1000 BCE.

 

Outline Itinerary

1 1 Arrive Cochin

Arrive Cochin and transfer to hotel.
Afternoon visit the Mattancherry Palace, The Clock Tower, The Jewish Synagogue and the St. Francis Church. Evening visits the FortCochinBeach and sees the huge Chinese fishing net’s operation and watching the sunset. O/n Hotel.

2 2 Cochin to Munnar (about 140kms/ 03hrs)

Morning we drive to Munnar – is a beautiful, peaceful hill station covered with unending expanse of tea plantations. Check into the hotel. Afternoon visit the Eravikulam – Rajamalai Wild Life Sanctuary proclaimed as a National Park since it supports the largest population of Nilgiri Tahr existing in the world now. Anamudi peak, the highest point South of the Himalayas falls in the southern part of this park. Explore the park. O/n Hotel.

 

3 3 Munnar

Morning stroll through the tea estates and make a short visit to Mattupetty, at an elevation of 1700m. O/n Hotel.

 

4 4 Munnar to Thekkady (about 105kms/ 03hrs)

Morning we drive to Periyar. On the way we can see beautiful sceneries and cardamom plantations. Check into the hotel. Afternoon we move to do a plantation tour. O/n Hotel.

5 5 Thekkady

Morning after b/f explore the Periyar Wild Life Sanctuary, know as Periyar Tiger Reserve. Afternoon cruise in PeriyarLake surrounded by hills to see the natural beauty and wild animals, mainly elephants fetching water from the lake. O/n Hotel.

 

6 6 Thekkady to Kumarakom (about 137kms/ 03hrs) - O/n Dlx Houseboat

Morning after b/f drive to Kumarakom, a small village on the banks of beautiful Vembanad Lake.
Board HOUSEBOAT for overnight cruise through enchanting back waters to Alleppey – is also known as the Venice of East, interlocked with a large number of canals and bridges.

7 7 Aleppey - Kovalam

Morning Disembark from the houseboat, and drive to Kovalam – a beach paradise, with boundless blue of the Arabian Sea and unwinding miles of fine and hisses at the feet of coconuts palms, Kovalam is a sheltered natural bay. Check into the hotel. The rest of the day spends on beautiful beaches.

 

8 8 Kovalam

Morning after breakfast drive about 45 minutes and transfer to the Trivandrum domestic airport for flight to onward journeys.
